CFOs (collateralised fund obligations) are commonplace in the US as means of raising fund level liquidity, however interest in these products is starting to warm up in Europe.
In a market desperate for liquidity, all participants are getting creative. In that spirit, collateralised fund obligations (CFOs) are becoming more prominent as a means of generating liquidity.
What is a CFO?
CFOs are a vehicle for securitising portfolios of assets, including private capital fund interests. Think private capital funds’ version of CLOs (collateralised loan obligations).
