LPs split on continuation vehicles

Coller Capital’s latest Barometer, Winter 2024-25, has revealed a split in LP attitudes towards continuation vehicles.
Asked: What is the primary purpose of continuation vehicles today?
The LP response was:
48%: To provide an alternative to selling at a relatively low valuation
31%: To give assets time to reach their originally targeted potential
21%: to generate outperformance from high-quality portfolio assets
The report said:
Recent trends point towards greater acceptance and understanding, accompanied by robust demand, as CVs firmly establish themselves as a viable exit strategy and a path to liquidity.
