EXITS
While exits grew, distributions as a portion of net asset value sank to the lowest rate in over a decade. Global buyout AUM has tripled over the past decade, distributions as a percentage of NAV have fallen from an average of 29% from 2014 to 2017 to 11% today.
Buyout funds are holding almost twice the assets they were in 2019, but exit value is at about the same level.
