Future proofing investor relations

Short-term thinking will lead to long-term pain.
The fundraising market continues to be challenging and will likely remain tough for the foreseeable future. According to the latest Bain report, for the last three years (2022, 2023, 2024) distributions as a percentage of net asset value have been worryingly low; between 11-15%.
With so little cash going back to LPs and for such an extended period of time, it’s highly unlikely fundraising totals will pick up significantly any time soon.
As well as having little in the way of distributions to re-invest, LPs are receiving a deluge of approaches and pitches from hopeful GPs; by most estimates, around 500 a year.
