The first instalment of a new series focused on rewards, remuneration and incentives for private markets professionals; here we explore the growing trend of performance related pay.
According to Oliver Freigang, CEO and co-founder of qashqade, performance-based incentives are on the rise. “We see various ways managers are implementing these schemes, but on a basic level; if pre-agreed targets have been met then rewards are paid out, which typically rise as those targets are exceeded.”
Freigang also notes that performance driven incentives are not only measurable but are easy to explain throughout the governance structure.
That explainability piece is becoming increasingly important as bonuses fall out of fashion.
